AcroFlight Hawaii
AcroFlight Hawaii Staff and owner Steve Lowry view aviation as a tool to support community and youth development. In recent years, AcroFlight Hawaii has hosted the Young Eagles program for children ages 8-14, and the Aviation Explorers program for youth 14-20 in age. These programs provide free flight instruction to youth, made possible by the generosity of Steve Lowry and participating contributors. Aside from a $15 suggested donation for fuel costs, these flights are free of cost to program members.
We also take pride in offering eco-friendly scenic courses and other aviation activities. MotorGliders offer eco-friendly island wide scenic tours. During a MotorGlider ride, the engine is turned off throughout half the flight, and the engine is much quieter while running; both of which contribute less noise pollution than alternative flight options. While typical airplanes burn from 12-18 gallons per hour, MotorGliders burn only 3 ½ gallons per hour making them more fuel efficient and earth friendly. In addition, conventional airplanes burn aviation fuel containing lead. MotorGliders on the other hand burn unleaded fuel and release no lead into the environment.
